What hope we have understanding that the words Jesus said before His crucifixion, death, and resurrection happened… just as He said.
“Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days” (John 2:19). Jesus was referring to His body being torn, abused, and resurrected. It happened just as He said.
After His death and reappearance Jesus said, “I am ascending to my Father” (John 20:17)… and He did! “He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight” (Acts 1:9).
There are many more scriptures that have been fulfilled just as Jesus said. All these things were recorded for us to give us hope and life.
The Son of God came to earth so that we might know the only true God and have a relationship with Him. Before Jesus chose to die on the cross for our sins, He prayed for you and me. Did you know that Jesus prayed for you and He lives now at God’s right hand always interceding for you?
Jesus asked the Father… restating in prayer that He’d been granted authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all… that no one be snatched from His hands. Jesus cared so much that He prayed we be kept safe, protected by the power of Jesus’ name, so that we may be one with Him. He asked God that we may have the full measure of His joy within us, that we be sanctified by His truth… that He be in us by His Spirit, “that I myself may be in them” (John 17:3-25).
The beauty of the cross as Jesus died in our place the death we deserve, He offered prayers for us perfumed by His blood. He was the perfect sacrifice for sin. His prayers echo through eternity with power and love for you. The world is unsettling… even in your own life, you may feel things are out of control, circumstances not turning out the way you desired which leads to doubt and frustration wondering if God hears and cares. But there is hope beyond this moment.
This Easter… celebrate the love and hope of the resurrected Jesus! Celebrate His victory over death, and receive and believe that Jesus’ purified prayers are answered by His loving and holy Father… He desires to be “one” with you… to give you life, hope and purpose for all eternity… just as He said.
Let’s pray… “Gracious Father, we thank you for demonstrating Your love for us through sending Your Son to die in our place as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. Thank you, Father that Jesus prayed for us to know You! Thank you, that He desires by His Holy Spirit to be in us for now and eternity. Lord, today I want to receive and believe anew the gift of the Spirit of Jesus in my life, to walk in the love and in the hope of the resurrection power for Your glory. May His will be done in me… just as He said.
In Jesus Name, amen.
