In Jesus precious name, may praise and thanksgiving rise from our hearts to the
heavens and reach your holy throne! We acknowledge that “every good and perfect gift comes from above” (James 4:17) and that includes our mothers!
|My mother, Jane Knox and daughter, Hannah
Thank you for a special day set aside to honor them for their unconditional love, support, and for all they do for us!
Forgive us for the days our appreciation, honor, respect and thankfulness for them has been lacking as your word says, Honor our fathers and mothers, which is the first commandment with a promise: that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth (Ephesians 6:1-3).
Lord, reconcile and bring healing where relationships between family members have been broken or strained, for You are a God who redeems and restores the years the swarming locusts has eaten
. (Joel 2:25 ESV).
Fill the hearts of mothers who are aching and alone. Comfort those who on this day are missing their mother’s presence. May the joy of your presence be their consolation and the future hope of seeing them in heaven. For those who never had children, may they “see” in the spiritual realm loved ones they have touched.
Give strength and wisdom to those who are caring for their mothers, and as they make difficult decisions for their mother’s care. God as you promise, we pray out of your glorious riches (You) may s trengthen (them) with power through (Your) Spirit in (their) inner being (Ephesians 3:16).
Thank You God, our mothers exemplify Your character in beauty, strength, steadfast love and faithfulness, and merciful nurturing. Pour out Your love into their hearts as families gather to celebrate and honor them by word and or deed. May their hearts be encouraged to hear Your Spirit say, “W ell done good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21).
Pour out Your Spirit on (her) offspring and Your
blessing on (her) descendants so they spring up… like trees by flowing streams… and may her children say, “I belong to the Lord ” (Isaiah 44:3-4). For there is truly no greater joy than to hear our children are walking in the truth (3 John 1:4).
Lord, we give thanks to You this day in May for our mothers, whom You formed and made for your glory ! (Isaiah 43:7). Fill them with the joy in Your presence, and eternal pleasures at Your right hand (Psalm 16:11).
For those reading who are mothers: May the blessings of the LORD be upon you. (Psalm 129:8)
