Journal Entry 4/15/16 – (The day of the Women’s beach retreat)
“For I AM the Lord your God who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar – the Lord Almighty is his name. I have put my words in your mouth and covered you with the shadow of my hand.” Isaiah 51:15
Oh, Lord – I came in the precious name of Jesus. I must apply my own lesson for this weekend’s retreat – “I trust you, Lord” I rebuke the waves of doubt. “Quiet. Be still.” (Matthew 8:26) James wrote when we pray, we must “believe and not be tossed by the wind and waves of doubt.” (Jas 1:6)
You are the God who calms the seas. How much more you long to calm our hearts! May I focus on you, giving you glory and loving these ladies. May I walk in joy and obedience as a “fragrant, pleasing offering” to you. Oh Lord, I am desperate for your help! Please speak and love through me to minister to these ladies in their times of need! “Speak Lord, your servants will be listening. ” (1 Sam. 3:10)
May each lady hear your invitation and “devote themselves to be close to you” in prayer. (Jeremiah 31:3) Amen.
God was faithful to reveal his love and presence in mighty ways!! The weekend was full of joy, moments of tears, heart-felt prayers, examining God’s word, games and walks and talks on the beach! How I loved watching the ladies seek God on the deck looking out at the ocean with the word open, writing out prayers and reflections! Sharing together as a group what God has shown each of them… was “icing on the cake”!
After the first night of gusty winds, God gave us the visual aid of literally calming the ocean waves! My heart wells up with gratitude for his faithfulness to us! God’s perfect peace enveloped me every moment of the trip,
