A Call for Our Nation to Return to God

Gracious God, our Father, we come to you in the name of Jesus our Savior,

You alone are the ruler over all the nations on the earth (2 Chronicles 20:6). O LORD, be gracious to us. Restore us again, O God our Savior, and put away your displeasure toward us. (Psalm 85:4)

Hear our prayer for we have forgotten all your benefits (Ps. 103:12). We have wandered from your ways, and have done what we think is right in our own eyes (1 Timothy 6:10; Judges 21:25 NASB).

We call to you on behalf of our authorities and our children – the future of America (Lamentations 2:19). May they look to you and your Word for direction – your Word leads us on paths of righteousness. (Psalm 23:3)

May we as a country ask again, where the good way is and walk in it (Jeremiah 6:16). Far be it from us to forsake you; for with you is all wisdom and understanding for living (2 Chron. 15:2; Psalm 110:11).

You, Oh Lord, reign forever. Your throne endures from generation to generation. Restore us to yourself O Lord, that we may return – renew our days as of old. (Lamentations 5:19, 21; Micah 7:20). Our hope is in you; you are the one who created all things – our nation was established under your care; uphold us by your righteous right hand, for you are the provider of all that we need (Jeremiah 14:22).
